For those looking for a memorable Maui event, the 8th annual Hana Film Festival is sure to deliver an unparalleled experience. Held October 1st and 2nd on the breathtaking Hana Bay, it is a free event that celebrates Hawaiian culture through music, arts, and film while bringing the Maui community together. Award-winning director, Kenneth Martinez Burgmaier, has been selflessly leading the grass-roots effot to put the event together for 8 years, with many local businesses, non-profits, and community organizers taking integral part.
The kickoff dinner will be held on Sept. 30th at Stella Blues in Kihei, featuring the talented Coco Robicheaux. And October 1st and 2nd, from 3pm to 11pm, visitors can enjoy the world premiere of: "HANA remembers her sons - Sarah Joe", "Journey to Kalaupapa" (both directed by Kenneth), "Massacre at Kaupoa Beach", "Heart Strings", and much more.
